A New Cultural Landmark for Egypt
As part of Egypt’s visionary New Administrative Capital project, the New Cairo Opera House stands as the largest performing arts complex in the Middle East. Occupying 85,000 m² within the wider Arts and Culture City, the venue includes five main performance spaces -headlined by a 2,150-seat opera hall, a 1,200-seat concert hall and a 600-seat theatre. The broader development encompasses 24 buildings, housing art studios, galleries, the Museum of Egyptian Capitals and the New Capital Library. Designed to host up to 6,000 visitors, the Opera House is a bold statement of Egypt’s cultural ambition on the global stage.
LSI Projects was appointed by Orascom Construction to design, supply, install and commission fully integrated technical systems across all major venues within the complex. From immersive audio to dynamic lighting, every element was tailored to meet the demands of large-scale international productions, while remaining adaptable to a diverse range of cultural events.
LSI carried out an extensive testing and commissioning phase followed by comprehensive post-handover support. This guaranteed that all systems were fully optimised and ready to perform for the venue’s opening season.
