A Bold Move for Dublin
The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) opened its doors in September 2010 as Ireland’s first purpose-built international conference venue. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Kevin Roche, the building’s signature 55-metre glass-fronted atrium offers sweeping views of the River Liffey and the heart of the capital. Set in the revitalised Docklands district, The CCD houses 22 adaptable spaces, including a 2,000-seat auditorium, expansive exhibition halls covering 4,500 square metres and a variety of meeting rooms – making it capable of hosting up to 8,000 delegates at once.
To match the bold architectural vision, The CCD needed an equally ambitious technical infrastructure. LSI Projects were brought on board to design, supply and install the complete audio, video and communications systems across the venue – working closely with Theatre Projects Consultants and the NEC Group.
Their mission was to ensure every space, from the main auditorium to the smaller breakout rooms, had intuitive, high-performing systems that could handle everything from keynote addresses to live entertainment. The result was a fully integrated network of audio, video and control systems designed for ease of use, adaptability and reliability – no matter the scale or complexity of the event.
With a €380 million construction budget and a high-profile launch on the horizon, timelines were tight and expectations high. LSI worked in lockstep with M&E contractors, acousticians and architects to ensure smooth coordination at every stage.
Thanks to careful planning, expert execution and close collaboration, the installation was delivered ahead of schedule – helping The CCD open fully operational and event-ready from day one.
